Abel Harding-The Hard Facts

I received an e-mail from the Duval Democratic Party the other day asking me to volunteer or contribute to the campaign of Mia Jones. Jones, currently a member of the Jacksonville City Council, is the Democratic candidate running for Florida State House District 14. As an elected member of the Duval County Democratic Executive Committee, I have taken an oath that I will not work against Democratic candidates; however, I cannot in good conscience support the campaign of Ms. Jones. Read More Here

Dear Friends,

We are officially kicking off our Five For Freedom Contest. Between now and October 31st we want you to get five other concerned citizens to contribute to Sarah’s campaign. We know you and many others want to bring transparency and accountability back to government. Surely, there has to be at least five more people, just like you, that would like to see our government working for us instead of against us.

To ensure this message makes it to Tallahassee, each person that brings five new donors to the campaign will be invited to the Sarah Lovett victory party on November 4th. The person who brings the most new donors will receive a special gift and recognition at our event.

Unlike you, many people do not realize that our state legislators are an important key to protecting our freedoms and liberties. And many more fail to realize that most candidates spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to be elected to the position. You have to wonder why someone would spend over $100,000 to be elected to a seat that only pays $28,000. We all know Sarah is just the person to prove that the deepest pockets don’t always win elections. That is why this contest isn’t about the amount of the donation but the number of donors. Its about the people.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the victory party.

Black Republican Group Continues MLK Billboard Campaign In Florida

“Our aim is to recapture the stellar civil rights record of the
Republican Party,” said the chairman of the National Back Republican
Association (NBRA), Frances Rice, “because it is past time that we
set the record straight.” Rice stated that the billboard campaign
highlighting the fact that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a
Republican captures the imagination and inspires people to visit the
website of the National Black Republican Association for addition
information.

According to Rice, billboards have already been put up in Charlotte,
Sarasota, Manatee, Pinellas, Hillsborough and Highlands counties in
Florida. The MLK billboard campaign is part of a comprehensive voter
education campaign that includes putting up MLK yard signs,
distributing MLK bumper stickers, mailing a newsletter to the homes
of black Americans and airing radio ads exposing Senator Barack Obama
as a far left-wing radical who should not be our president.

“We are making great strides with recapturing the Republican Party’s
civil rights heritage,” Rice said, “and exposing the racist past of
the Democratic Party.”

Details about the Democratic Party’s ugly civil rights history can be
found on the NBRA website at: www.NBRA.info.

I wanted to take this moment to thank Sarah Lovett for awarding me this opportunity to manager her 2008 campaign for State Representative.
